Prosecutors inspect University of Idaho murder house, one week before demolition

The home where four University of Idaho students were murdered last November is set to be demolished by the University on Thursday, December 28.

University of Idaho reports that prosecutors are at the home today, for what is expected to be the last time before the house is demolished. The home was given to the University following the murders and neither the prosecution nor the defense have requested that it be retained.

The University has previously stated that they are eager to remove what has become a painful vestige in the community, a terrible reminder of that night a year ago when Ethan Chapin, Xana Kernodle, Madison Mogen and Kaylee Goncalves were brutally murdered in the off-campus home.

What prosecutors are doing in the home today is not clear. A gag order issued by the court that covers prosecutors and law enforcement prevents them from sharing further details. Bryan Kohberger's defense team went through the home last week, presumably for one final walkthrough before it is demolished.
